What happens when colour stops being just light and becomes part of the photograph?

When Colour Takes Over is an experimental portrait photography project created in the studio, where multiple coloured lights interact with the model, her clothes and the space around her.

The colours do not simply illuminate the subject. They spill across the skin, stain the clothes and change the appearance of the figure. Light becomes texture, while colour becomes an active part of the image.

The project was born through experimentation: moving the lights, combining different colours and allowing unexpected results to become part of the photographs.

There was no intention to create perfectly controlled images. Sometimes a stronger shadow, an unexpected reflection or an unusual colour creates the most interesting moment.

The model remains at the centre, but the light becomes almost physical — something that transforms the person and the photograph at the same time.

This is a study of colour, light, texture and the human figure, created through experimentation rather than traditional portrait photography.
