Conceptual Portrait Photography

She looks like a bride. But something is different. Wrapped in transparent plastic, surrounded by an almost unreal atmosphere, her figure becomes suspended between beauty and discomfort.

The Plastic Bride is a conceptual portrait photography project built around a simple and unsettling image: a woman dressed like a bride, protected and imprisoned at the same time.

The plastic becomes a second skin. It hides, reveals and distorts the body, creating a tension between elegance and vulnerability. The bridal appearance suggests celebration, purity and transformation, while the material surrounding her introduces something colder and more fragile.

I was interested in this contrast. The beauty of the portrait is never completely comfortable. There is something mysterious in the image, something that invites the viewer to look again and wonder what is happening beyond the photograph.

The photographs were created as a visual experiment rather than as a traditional bridal portrait. Light, texture and the human figure become the essential elements, leaving space for the viewer to create their own interpretation.

Perhaps she is a bride. Perhaps she is waiting. Perhaps she is trying to escape. There is no single answer. And maybe that is where the photograph begins.
